The Canadian Press<\/a>, Canada\u2019s largest news organization, has announced<\/a> it will be exclusively partnering with Sony to help outfit all of its journalists with Sony cameras and lenses.<\/p>\n

The Canadian Press is home to more than 180 journalists, who work together to \u2018produce real-time, bilingual multimedia news published by major digital, broadcast and print media.\u2019 The company\u2019s partnership with Sony will see all of its photojournalists and videographers \u2018use a variety of Sony cameras and lenses including the Sony Alpha 1 and Alpha 9 II products to quickly capture hundreds of powerful editorial photos and videos every day, ranging from large-scale global sporting events to local Canadian news, politics and lifestyle content.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the third major exclusive deal Sony has snagged over the past year, with 2021 seeing both the Associated Press<\/a> and the USA Today Network\/Gannett<\/a>, partner with Sony to provide its visual journalists with Sony\u2019s mirrorless cameras and lenses.<\/p>\n

The Canadian Press says it\u2019s already working on getting Sony gear into the hands of its photographers and videographers and will continue its distribution plan throughout \u2018early 2022.\u2019<\/p>\n

TORONTO, CANADA \u2013 January 31, 2022 \u2013 <\/strong>Sony Electronics, a global imaging leader, and The Canadian Press, Canada\u2019s trusted national news agency, announced today that Sony would be the exclusive imaging products provider for the media company.<\/p>\n

With more than 180 journalists, The Canadian Press produces real-time, bilingual multimedia news published by major digital, broadcast and print media. The switch to Sony will mean the photojournalists and videographers at The Canadian Press will use a variety of Sony cameras and lenses including the Sony Alpha 1 and Alpha 9 II products to quickly capture hundreds of powerful editorial photos and videos every day, ranging from large-scale global sporting events to local Canadian news, politics and lifestyle content.<\/p>\n
