Unfortunately for many films that take place outside in the 19th and 20th centuries, the world has to be altered significantly to convince the audience that we\u2019ve traveled back in time.\n<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\nTransforming city streets for a period piece is where set designers like Oscar-nominated set decorator Rena DeAngelo shine the brightest. Rena DeAngelo has worked on period pieces like <em>The French Dispatch, West Side Story, The Post<\/em>, and <em>Mad Men<\/em>, transforming the streets through props that replicate the culture of the time.\n<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\nDeAngelo took Insider on a tour through Eclectic Encore Props in NYC to show us how she turns modern-day city streets into a 20th century time capsule.
