Ricoh Americas has announced that it will open a GR Space in New York City: the first in North America.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Details are scant, so far, but in an Instagram post<\/a>, it says that GR Space NYC will open at some point during \u201cWinter 2027.\u201d We\u2019ve confirmed with the company that they mean this winter, but presumably in the New Year.<\/p>\n

It describes the idea as a: \u201cphotography-focused destination dedicated to the RICOH GR community and the culture of street photography.\u201d<\/p>\n

GR Spaces already exist in Tokyo, along with Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai in China, Soeul, Korea and Brisbane, Australia. The Tokyo space includes chaging exhibitions of GR shooters\u2019 work and competition-winning photos, alongside samples of the latest GR models and their accessories. The Tokyo GR Space even has its own, custom-made house blend of coffee.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re told that the GR Space New York City won\u2019t simply be a pop-up or temporary endeavor, so it\u2019ll be interesting to see if it becomes a hub for GR users and, perhaps, the wider street photography community in New York. Once we know where exactly it is.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
