Aputure’s Limited Edition Amaran COB 60x Takes a Page From RED

The tiny LED light is expected to sell out quickly.

When RED announced the Komodo a few years back, it came in the company’s trademarked white color. Now, Aputure is following suit with a white version product of its own.

Aputure has announced a white edition of the amaran COB 60x. The limited edition release is cloaked in a full matte white Colorway finish on the body and a full-sized Bowens mount, just like the original design. Outside of gaining style points, there really isn’t anything new about this light, so let’s take a trip down memory lane to see what the 60x offers.

Accurate, Bright, and Fun

The white edition of the amaran COB 60x will have the same 65W bi-color output with ≥96 CRI/TLCI scores, 85 SSI tungsten scores, and an SSI (D56) score of 74. The light has a color CCT range of 2700-6500K, and emits 37775 lux at one meter with the reflector dish attached.
