Is One of Our Favorite Directors Getting Ready to Retire?

Every filmmaker hits that point when it is time to retire, but when will James Cameron step away from the director’s chair?

We are less than three weeks away from James Cameron’s highly-anticipated sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water, splashing into theaters. After the many successes Cameron has had as a filmmaker over the course of his career, fans and moviegoers are eager to watch how Cameron has entertainment even further.

The 68-year-old director has dedicated much of the last 25 years to building the Na’vi world of Avatar, and we have to wonder if the filmmaker will continue making films.

It turns out, Cameron might already have a retirement plan. When speaking to The Hollywood Reporter during his press tour for the film, Cameron touched on the already-confirmed plans for the two upcoming sequels, set to debut every two years instead of every 10 years, if there is a demand for the films.

If the demand is there, then Cameron is prepared to continue the story for Avatar 6 and 7.
