Haukland’s ‘7in1’ jacket is a $299 jacket made specifically for photographers

A great jacket is a must-have item for any outdoor photographer. You’ve got to be warm and dry to stay safe and healthy. Plus, it makes it a lot easier to capture great photos when you’re comfortable. Haukland has announced a jacket made especially for photographers.

The Haukland 7in1 jacket is designed from the ground up for photographers and includes many features that will prove useful in the field. The jacket includes three layers. The base layer is a Haukland fleece jacket. The second layer is a padded jacket. Finally, the outermost layer is the outer jacket with the variety of pockets. You can wear any layer by itself to fit different conditions and weather.

The left sleeve includes a flexible strap and metal clip, which you can use to attach a microfiber cloth to clean your lens when shooting. When you’re done with the cloth, you can put it back inside a closable pocket on the arm. Never again will you ask, ‘Where is my cleaning cloth?’

When you open the jacket, there’s a ‘Mini Photo Bag’ inside that includes labeled compartments for memory cards and extra batteries for a total of five pockets. Below are two larger pockets for additional batteries, smartphones, power banks, wallets, and more. You can fit up to 100 x 150mm filters inside the larger pockets, and they close using Velcro.

The outer jacket, which is styled like a parka, includes water and wind resistance. It’s made using tear-resistant 228T nylon-treated fabric. The inside mesh is breathable. The jacket has a welded two-way YKK zipper for added protection from the elements. The outer jacket includes a total of 11 pockets.

The ‘middle’ layer, the padded jacket, doesn’t have quite as many pockets as the outer layer, but it still has a ‘Mini Photo Bag’ with five pockets, a microfiber cloth pocket in the left sleeve, and two large front pockets.

The fleece jacket also has a ‘Mini Photo Bag’ on the inside with five pockets and the cloth pocket on the left sleeve. Like the padded jacket, the fleece jacket also includes a pair of zippered front pockets. The Mini Photo Bag inside the fleece jacket doesn’t have waterproof film, so it’s more breathable. It is made entirely of mesh. If you need a waterproof Mini Photo Bag, you must wear one of the other two layers.

The Haukland 7in1 jacket for photographers is available in four colorways, black/blue, olive, red and yellow. It’s available for preorder for $299, a $50 savings compared to the eventual retail price. The jacket should begin shipping in late August or early September. For more information, visit Haukland.
