Apparently the Most Visually Stunning Scene in the New ‘Thor’ Was Shot in a Best Buy Parking Lot

That’s some real Marvel movie magic!

This week, Thor: Love and Thunder storms into movie theaters. Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie brings back Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, the scientist and love interest from the first two Thor movies. Portman seems happy to be back in the Marvel universe and on sets with huge budgets.

This movie reportedly cost over $200 million, and it sounds like some of it is going to good use on-camera work and set dressing. Portman recently told Entertainment Weekly:

“There’s one scene that’s one of the most visually beautiful scenes I’ve seen on film, and we shot [it] in real life in a Best Buy parking lot. It’s so wild to be on this size of movie, and we were literally in a parking lot with a blue screen, doing this really dramatic thing. It looks so stunning on film, but every time I see it, I’m like, ‘That’s a Best Buy parking lot.’”
